Hey it's Gungun. Street Dance started with the idea that it all started "on the streets."
My dance journey dates back to being a bharanatyam dancer from Sydney. In Melbourne, I exposed myself to learning the techniques of teaching and learning dance from Bollywood dance schools, my passion for films and music intertwine when I am on the stage performing and I wish to inspire everyone I teach with the confidence to perform.

Hii everyone, my name is Aadhya. I recently joined the Street Dancer team so let me tell you a bit about myself. I’m 18 years old ; just graduated high school, i am a huge fan of cricket and i have loved dancing since i was born. Dance has always been a big part of me thanks to my family and friends!
I see myself as a strong fit for the team due to my passion, dedication, and skill in dance. As a teacher, I bring not only technical expertise but also patience, creativity, and a positive attitude. I have a lot of experience in teaching (swimming, tutoring and now dance) and i absolutely love it. I strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment where all my students feel encouraged to explore their potential and express themselves through dance.

Avneet Bhinder
Bhangra Dance Instructor
Hey!! It’s Avneet or Avi for short and I am the bhangra instructor for street dance! Currently I’m battling the challenges of being a year 12 student and pursuing my passions of sport and dance. Having the ability to show off and build my confidence as a dancer has helped me grow throughout the years, hence I’ve loved it ever since I was a little girl. At the moment I’m still deciding on what I want my future to look like but let’s just say that dance will definitely be apart of it. Being blessed and having amazing bhangra genetics from my father who competed when he was young, has helped not only build my identity but discover my true passion for it. I’ve always been dedicated and hard working ever since I was a youngster, so no matter what I do, you best believe I’m putting my all into it!
My end goal is to be able to embed my skills into my little ones and clients so that they can go off and show their skills to their families too! I want Punjabi traditions and culture to stay alive in this evolving generation and show the community how beautiful Bhangra can be.

Riya Gupta
Bollywood Dance Instructor
Hi! I'm Riya Gupta, an instructor at Street Dance Melbourne. I am studying a full time student at RMIT doing a bachelor's degree in criminology and psychology. My ultimate goal career wise is to become a psychologist however dance has always been a passion of mine which is why I joined Street dance. As a person I'm very fun , entertaining, more informal but it depends on the environment and oh , I love encouraging every individual with hugs, high 5s and compliments.
As a dancer , I love enjoying the steps, feeling the movement, the steps and not worrying whether I made a mistake or not. This obviously does not come naturally but this is what I aim to teach. My aim to join street dance also includes spreading my love for bollywood to others. My teaching style includes lyrical and more semi-classical which involves turns and thumka's however it does not limit to that! I have learnt hip-hop myself which is something I could add on to the dance routines... I believe that 50% of dancing comes from your expression and confidence and the rest of it comes from the steps which is something I'd like to add on! Obviously not everyone is a born dancer BUT that's where my job comes in which is to teach dance in a way that people not only learn but rather have fun!
